I'm Glad I'm an Alcoholic

Over dinner, the young doctor said to me, "Alcoholism is certainly a terrible disease, isn't it?" It certainly is. No AA member who has suffered from it would quarrel with that. A large percentage of those in prisons are there because of crimes they committed while under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol plays an important part in many homicides and suicides. Violent acts are done to get money for alcohol. There are thousands of innocent victims of alcoholism.
