In the mish-mash of opinions expressed, one could see why AA is no longer very effective. It appears the ideas expressed covered everything known to man, except for the real nature of this terrible thing called alcoholism. The Big Book makes it clear that the program of AA is complete and total surrender to God; it is not self-help, psychology, religion, or group therapy.
