Alcoholics love to travel. In my drinking days, travel represented a geographical cure. But these attempts to get away from it all never worked. Wherever I went, there I was. Usually the journey supplied me with a new drinking opportunity, which became an anecdote of powerlessness I would later include in my qualification.
