Ham on Wry

PROBABLY a little closer to fact is a story from a newspaper in Canada, forwarded to us by John C., relating that the ladies of a local parish had a meeting to hear a Toronto senator's discussion of the political situation. Just before the meeting started, a somewhat seedy character seated himself near the back and stayed throughout the proceedings. He explained afterward that it was his "first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous" and that he "wasn't particularly impressed by it." (The AA meeting was a couple of blocks down the street.)
