Keeping it simple

At the age of nineteen I was living in a homeless shelter and I thought my life was over. I lacked self-confidence and felt I had nothing to offer anybody. I knew my life's unmanageability was a result of my drinking yet I couldn't see life without drinking. I was faced with the fact that I was a zero. My family and friends wanted nothing to do with me.
