Taking Off in the Andes

I belong to a Roman Catholic missionary organization and back in 1984 my religious superiors began talking about sending me to work here in Bolivia. As the assignment process became more serious, I decided one afternoon to check out AA in the International Directory. Much to my surprise and dismay, I could find no entry for the city of Cochabamba, where I was going. No group? How was I ever going to survive? Did I dare tempt the Higher Power, and risk my sobriety, by getting into a situation where I would be unable to attend meetings on a regular basis? Maybe I should say "no" to the assignment?
