My dreary story of alcoholic drinking covers about thirty-five years. I rapidly progressed to daily drinking. Then came divorce, getting fired, treatment for alcoholism, going to AA, and more drinking. I spent nineteen dismal years on that treadmill, always denying my alcoholism, convinced I was "different."
