One Among Many

My home group is a Big Book discussion group where we read a chapter aloud each week and then share our experience. A few weeks ago we had read chapter three and were talking about the First Step, when I heard myself say: "I can pick up the first drink, and get drunk. I can pick up the First Step, and get sober. Or, I can just sit in the middle and do nothing."
