Another First Birthday

Twelve years ago, I was given a second chance at life. I was nineteen years old and deeply entrenched in alcoholism. It became apparent even to me that unless something happened soon, I was not going to reach the age of twenty. I was depressed and suicidal, at the end of my rope. I had reached my bottom. In retrospect, I am able to see how my Higher Power intervened, giving me back the most precious gift of my life.
