The other night, Diane and I were leading the beginners meeting down at the central office. This was a structured series of meetings, and since this was my second time through the series I thought I knew all the instructions. But all at once this sentence loomed in front of me: "Explain the difference between religion and spirituality." I don't remember ever having seen that sentence before! It was like rereading a passage in the Big Book but seeing it for the first time. I gave some sort of answer about church and fellowship, and we went on to the next set of instructions. However, the incident bothered me more than I wanted to admit.
