Is our message for everyone?

My heart goes out to Karen L. (October 1991, "Is Our Message for Everyone?"). Karen has a powerful message we all need to hear. I have been sober in AA since January 1976 and happen to be straight but was taught in AA to be openminded and have even sponsored gay people. I like to think that we are people first. Our hearts ache the same way and our tears flow in the same direction. We all have an addiction that binds us together and the rest is irrelevant. The love we have for one another does not discriminate between sexes, colors, religions. I love a person for what they are not for what I want them to be. The AA message is life saving and let us make sure anyone that wants it can have it. You accepted me when no one else would.
