What It Used to Be Like

What has AA done for me? There is a saying in and around AA that goes something like this: Two AA members calling on a suffering alcoholic. He asks, "How long have you been in AA?" The first one replies, 25 years. The second one says only six months. "You are the one I wish to talk to," pointing to the six month member, "because you remember more about what it used to be like than he does."
