I am a recovering alcoholic and my sobriety date is March 28, 1979. It makes no difference whether I'm male or female, a celebrity, a nonsmoker, a pilot or a lawyer. I' m a person with an allergy of the body and an obsession of the mind who lost the ability to control my drinking. I recovered by taking Steps One through Nine to the best of my ability and I maintain that recovery one day at a time by living in Steps Ten, Eleven, and Twelve. I have had a spiritual awakening, achieving victory over alcohol by being willing to go to any lengths, and have been reborn. My relationship with God is right and I'm the miracle in my life.
