Stalled in Sobriety

I am an alcoholic. That means I've lost the power of choice when it comes to a drink. I don't know why I am an alcoholic, or when I became one. It doesn't matter. What matters is that my lifestyle took me under bridges, into police cars, into hospitals and institutions. It took away friends, family, and above all, sanity. Yet I continued to drink.
