The gift of hearing
I am a 74-year-old male AA with 28 years of as active a sobriety as I am capable of handling. During the course of a regular check-up with my internist (a woman doctor and a skillful diagnostician), my health was as good as it could be. My only complaint was a feeling of sadness--not for myself, but for the loss of so many older AA friends.
