I never went in much for those "geographical cures" while I was an active alcoholic--moving was far too much of a hassle for me. So, when I was thirty-one, and my life was totally unmanageable, I decided that having a baby would be the answer to my problems. I would have to become responsible as a mother, wouldn't I?
