Ms. Fix-it Resigns

My family was a large one, full of many aunts, uncles, and cousins, making holidays and celebrations large and festive. However, there was a big blowup over something trivial, and suddenly it all fell apart. The death of my grandfather was the first time the family would all be together in one room since the blowup. In anticipation of the emotional outbursts I knew would occur. I got drunk before the funeral. I rationalized that my grandfather would want me to be that way for his funeral. We had so much in common! (My grandfather died drunk.)
