On Loan

At times I am gripped with an unexplainable regret that some of the relationships in my life have fallen by the wayside. Both sober and drunk, I have had many people that I once called friends not call much anymore. Nor, in some cases, have I made any attempt to call them. Are there skeletons I am avoiding? Do I owe amends? In some cases the answer is no; it's just the way it goes. Let me explain.
