A New Perspective
My name is Dan. I'm sitting here in love, joy, gratitude, and awe--in awe because in March 1991 I was one of those wet-brain alcoholics that doctors say can't make it. People said, "He'll never live through the summer." I first started drinking in the fall of 1962 so I was well practiced. I was diagnosed several times as being a wet brain. Eighty percent of my liver was gone. I couldn't recognize letters printed on paper. I couldn't write, couldn't remember, couldn't walk, talked with a really bad stutter. I couldn't function at all.
