I remember how I was when I came to Alcoholics Anonymous in 1983: a teenager with a know-it-all attitude and hardly enough humility to consider Step One. I was a drunkard, a street child; self-centered to the extreme; inconsiderate, dishonest, and self-seeking. But, my chance did come.
