Undermining unity?

I'd like to make a comment on a feature you've run periodically the last few years. I find the forum "Is AA Changing?" to be a welcome addition to your regular articles. I observe that a number of AA members look unfavorably on the airing of controversial issues, usually claiming that such airings undermine the spirit of unity in our Fellowship. I disagree. I believe that no group or community can survive and grow if it does not examine itself and come to terms with the differences of its various members. The opinions you publish are well balanced and usually fairly civil and avoid hysterical rhetoric. So, I encourage you to encourage the AA community to continue to think about who we are and where we stand in the world.
