Growing Pains

It all started so innocently at that Thursday night meeting about two months ago. I was sitting in the back row when a young woman sat down beside me. She had been in the program for about six months and we had gotten to be pretty good buddies. Nothing serious, just friends in AA. About halfway through the meeting, she leaned over and asked me in a whisper if I would mind listening to her Fifth Step. Before I stopped to think about it. I said I'd be glad to. We agreed to meet at the city park and throw a blanket on the ground under a shade tree and really have a spiritual setting for what we hoped would be a spiritual experience for both of us.
