My Contribution

I've never thought of myself as poor. But in recent years the numbers on my 1040 EZ tax form fit the definition. By American standards, I'm living in poverty. Choosing work I love, but which rarely pays, has grounded me on a no-frills expense account and imprudent reserve. Some weeks I fish around for change that "clinks thinly" among the dollar bills at meetings. Sometimes I just pass the basket. I've been here before.
