Distilled Spirits

I walked through the doors and into my first meeting a broken and terrified woman. It is only these few months later that I know beyond the shadow of a doubt how very sick I was and how fortunate I am that a Power much greater than myself led me to AA. That first week I attended a meeting every day. I felt sick and disoriented but I knew I was in the right place. I heard stories that week I will never forget. Part of what is essential to my recovery began that week: I was one suffering alcoholic hearing and speaking to others.
