I only wish Bill W.'s comments on Tradition One (reprinted in the January 1992 issue) reflected what I experienced during my time as an AA member. I have been clean and sober for eight years. I stopped going to AA meetings, except occasionally, four years ago. I have the opportunity to read the Grapevine at my place of work and it only serves to remind me why I left AA and to be grateful that I have moved beyond its rigid beliefs, dogma, and small-mindedness.
