Temporary Contacts, Lasting Results

In 1973, Dr. Jack joined the staff of our local hospital, and in 1978, persuaded the hospital administrator to supply one bed for a sick alcoholic, providing he could get volunteers to sit around the clock with the patient. There was no trouble finding volunteers in the AA community (acting anonymously), and more than one alcoholic found sobriety during this period.
