Starting Over. . .And Over

When I was introduced to AA in 1982, my job was on the line. It was suggested I go to a rehabilitation center. So off I went to a rehab in the mountains. I thought it was a vacation: three meals a day and recreation. I did not listen to anything. I figured, I hadn't lost my job--yet. I hadn't lost a family--yet. I'd never received a drunk driving citation--yet. I compared myself out. To me an alcoholic was a skid row bum. I wasn't like that--yet.
