The Politics of Gratitude

Sober aspirations have landed me very far from the AA community that nurtured my hope in early sobriety. Now middle-aged, I am both student and teacher, living in a college town eight months a year, where I'm dependent for serenity and sobriety upon an AA community that is overall much younger than the groups I've attended the past ten years.
