The Search Is Over

My name is Elizabeth and I am an alcoholic. I don't really remember my anniversary date. My sponsor said to me, "You've got to pick a date." I knew it was the first part of March so I thought, "Well, then I'll pick the ninth." I was afraid I would forget the year so I wrote it down in my Big Book. Some people lose days and some lose months, but I lost years. Once, when I had to write a check I asked for the date and when someone said, "It's August 10," I said, "I mean what year is it?"
