A Wrench for every nut

Many recent letters to the Grapevine exhibit a theme often heard in AA today. After having recovered from a seemingly hopeless condition of mind and body, some AA members start to complain that the instrument of their recovery is flawed. AA is criticized for being too old-fashioned or for observing silly rituals. The Big Book is faulted as sexist and antiquated. Calls to bring AA up to date with the latest recovery ideas are commonplace.
