My name is Rob C. and I am a twenty-five-year-old alcoholic. I would like to share an experience I just had. I went to the Woodstock'94 concert. Being sober a short period of time, I am trying to practice the AA principles in my life.
When I got there it was chaos, alcohol and drugs were everywhere. And my disease started right in, saying to me, "Who would know?" Insanity had returned.
By the grace of God I made it through. Saturday morning I came across a large yellow tent. It was a tent for AAs. My friend and I went in. There were people from all over the country having a meeting.
Immediately I remembered what I was trying to do. God had restored my sanity. I was able to go out in that crowd without worry.
The next day, Sunday, a woman celebrated six years of sobriety and two people attended their very first AA meetings. It showed me that AA does not change, wherever you go.
Because of AA and God I was able to have one of the best times of my life--sober.
