Ready or Not

I celebrated my thirtieth AA birthday last October. I wasn't ready for it. But then many good things have taken me by surprise over the last few years: two lovely grandchildren were born; I'm teaching in a new field and have published a book; and, best of all, I've seen hopeless drunks transformed into useful human beings by the miracle of AA. Life happens, ready or not. Of course, it's not always good or pleasant.
