Dad's Group

"Your mother has had a heart attack. The ambulance is at the house. Your father is with her. Please come right away." This was the message my parents' neighbor left on my answering machine. As I sped to their house, I expected the worst. During my five years of sobriety, I had had many difficult times. But because of the tools I had been taught in Alcoholics Anonymous, I had always been able to deal with the difficulties and become a better person because of the experience. But today I didn't know if I could handle what lay ahead.
