A WOMAN OF SOME EXPERIENCE goes into a bar, sits down, and says, "Bartender, a shot of bourbon, please, and a small water back." She quickly downs the bourbon, then takes a dainty sip of the water. She signals to do it again, then does it again, exactly the same way: the bourbon in a jolt, a sip of water. After the third repeat of this same ritual, the bartender makes bold to ask her, "M'am? Why are you drinking so much bourbon, and so little water?"
