A WELL-KNOWN PROFESSOR was being honored at an open-bar reception, and accepted a few too many freebies. When he was introduced, he rose from his chair, staggered across the stage toward the podium, and fell. The audience gasped. But the great educator, still flat on his back, announced clearly and cordially, "I think I shall dispense with my prepared remarks and simply take questions from the floor."
