The Walls Came Tumbling Down

When I first came to AA, it didn't take long before I found out I was enjoying this new way of life. Friends accepted me for what I was, offered me their handshakes, gave me their phone numbers, told me to keep coming back, to keep an open mind. It broke down the wall I had hidden behind for so many years. I had always thought I was different, that the things I had done would bar me forever from the society of other people, that nobody wanted the kind of guy I was around.
