Distilled Spirits

I remember when I bought my first Big Book being told that "meetings are the icing on the cake, but the Big Book is the meat in the sandwich." The AAs who were standing around the literature table that night all nodded knowingly at this mixed metaphor. I smile now when I recall that evening and realize just how true those words have become.
