Burning Bright

As my excitement grows for the upcoming International Convention in San Diego, I wanted to share the miracle that happened for me at the last International Convention in Seattle. I was two years sober when I found myself with a couple of thousand people at the kickoff marathon meeting on Thursday at midnight. A candle that was to burn for the next three days was lit by a parent and child. I was overwhelmingly grateful to be present at the Convention and for the incredible gift of sobriety. But I felt great sadness for my family who still suffered. So through my tears of gratitude and sadness, I said a silent prayer (as I'm sure did many in that room).
