A Moving Experience

A few months before I moved, I met a new guy at my old home group called Dave. We started going to coffee after the meetings and he told me his story. He'd gotten sober the first time many years before and by working on his "insides," his "outsides" had started getting a lot better. He landed a good job and moved to the suburbs with his new bride. He had achieved the AA version of the American dream: sobriety, a Higher Power, a family, a job, a house. I didn't ask about the white picket fence.
