Flexible enough to change

If I can stay teachable for a little over two more months, I will celebrate three years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous. But escape from the bondage of alcoholism is far from the only thing AA has done for me and I will be forever grateful for the serenity that has accompanied that sobriety. My twenty-eight year history of escaping reality through the use of alcohol and other mind/mood-altering chemicals took me all over the Midwest to the West Coast and through five dysfunctional marriages. In short, my story doesn't differ much from so many others I've heard or read about.
