AA and mental illness

I was disheartened more than anything by the stories on the March theme of "The Forgotten Chapter." Although the stories related may hold true for a very small percentage of alcoholics, I'm afraid that many will generalize them to include nearly all of us. I am also disturbed that AAs are portrayed as unfeeling and unsympathetic in situations like this. Lastly, I wish you had included the perspective of those of us who have successfully stayed sober, after suffering grave emotional and mental disorders, without pharmaceuticals. We do exist.
