Reunion

In March 1993, I was attending the area assembly in Red Deer, Alberta. The Friday night session was over and I decided to go to a coffee shop before returning to my hotel room. I was sitting alone in a booth at the back of the room when a young man walked over to me and asked if he could join me. When he sat down, I saw that his name was Gord and he was from Calgary. I told him my name, and he started to laugh and said he knew that. There was something in his laughter that made me look into his eyes. All I could say was, "Gordie, is it really you?" With a big smile, he said, "Yes, Mom, it's me." After that, I cried an ocean of joyful tears and we were able to talk. It turned out that my son and I shared the same sobriety date.
