Progress Not Perfection

Last Thursday evening, the West End Group of AA did a group inventory. Over fifty members and attenders participated in a careful and detailed look at how the group is functioning. As with many large AA groups, this one is made up of a diverse and sometimes contentious lot, and many different points of view were voiced. We heard what is working in the meetings; we heard a good bit about what needs fine tuning and what needs fixing. Mainly, the inventory was an affirmation of the purpose of the group and commitment to the common welfare of the fellowship as it carries AA's message.
