Sobriety Is a Learning Experience

A funny thing happened in my seventeenth year of sobriety: I found out that I wasn't stupid. I'd listened to people in AA saying that alcoholics were extremely talented people; over-achievers; very bright. I had a sneaking suspicion that I was once again different.
