Distilled Spirits

Several years ago I attended a seminar in Chicago on alcoholism. The guest speaker, a very learned and knowledgeable person on the disease of alcoholism, described the alcoholic as falling into one of six or seven different types. Some were periodic, some were violent, some were just ordinary, garden variety drunks. Upon leaving with a fellow AA member, we were exchanging our own thoughts as to which category we belonged to. After a lengthy sharing in the parking lot, we came to this conclusion: really, what's the difference; whatever it is, "I are one."
