In Praise of Drunkalogues

Very often these days, I hear people sitting in the speaker's chair begin by saying, "I'm bored with my story, so I'm not going to do a drunkalogue," and my heart sinks. After twenty-two years, I still believe that the most compelling and useful parts of a meeting are the drunkalogues. It's in these drinking stories that I find and recognize myself, as much today as I first did.
