Supersonic Serenity

I walked into my first meeting when I was sixteen years old, lonely, sick, afraid, and looking to find a way to drink and still survive. Of course, I didn't tell the AA members that. I quickly learned how to parrot the right words and convinced myself that a little AA, combined with a redoubling of willpower, would enable me to control my drinking and find release from my pain.
