A Not-so-secret Society

I would like to describe my experiences of starting AA meetings in an Islamic country. After seven years of recovery in London where there are hundreds of meetings every week, I and my wife (whom I met in AA and who has eleven years' sobriety) moved to Dubai in the Persian Gulf. We discovered that AA wasn't listed in the telephone directory or anywhere else.
