A Sign for the Future

In August 1994 I was vacationing with my family in New England and eastern Canada. I love my family dearly but by the end of a week of close quarters in motel rooms and our van, I needed a meeting--badly. I found myself in a secluded resort on the somewhat remote South Shore of Nova Scotia. Desperate, I contacted AA in Halifax, Nova Scotia's principal city, a great distance away. I was given the name and phone number of an AA in a nearby town. I called Don and began an evening I will not soon forget.
