Sobriety Led Me Back to the Church

My background in religion was varied. My mother was a member of a mainstream Protestant church; my father was more of a self-styled philosopher, with a few choice verses from Scripture to back up his beliefs. There was never any question whether I should believe in God, but the particulars of religious observances were confused.
